It has been reported on Thursday that Manchester United has accepted Real Madrid's offer for moving Cristiano Ronaldo to Santiago Bernabeu. The offer has made a new world's record for a football player transfer. United management said it received an unconditional offer of £80 million or $131 million for Ronaldo, and unlike last offseason is willing to see its winger join Real.
United said: "At Cristiano Ronaldo’s request—who has again expressed his desire to leave—and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player. Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June."
Real's official has confirmed the spectacular offer for Cristiano Ronaldo, saying: "We are expecting to reach an agreement with CR7 in the coming days."
Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Premiere League champion from Sporting Lisbon in 2003. Ronaldo has been linked with Madrid for a couple of times since last year. It turns out that a world-record bid appears too hard to resist for United whose debts have spiraled to nearly $1 billion.
